Branding and Packaging
Mridula Ganesan is a passionate baker and the founder of Hew & frost - a Chennai based home studio for bespoke cakes and confectionary. This sprinkled- covered, sticky-fingered bake-oholic is also a designer, calligrapher and dancer. Her culinary creations are literally works of art - marbled popsicle, Impasto cakes, edible miniature tops on lip-smacking macaroons and cupcakes.
I imagine this 25 year old with a bright smile, plugs on her music and whips up mouth-watering treats everyday, plunging us into her tastefully curated dessert world.

Metamorphosis
Print Design
“Metamorphosis” is a series of handcrafted tapestries with a twist. This range of textile canvases have been created by marrying the traditional block printing technique of the East and design inspiration from the West. The patterns were developed by manipulating a single shape- triangle, adding or reducing to the existing pattern.
The heart of the project was to transpose tessellation patterns to the medium of textiles – using one shape which when put together demonstrates movement, gradation in colours and morphing shapes.

This project was designed and developed as a part of my MA in Chelsea College of Art and Design in London.

Using tropical barks, indigenous to Southern India, the piece were block printed using one block to create gradation.
Simple blocks made out of recycled MDF. Creating illusion with the patterns.
Photographs set in repeat to create patterns with a 3D effect.
